WAYS TO GIVE
Ambassador Program
Since 1997, Spare Key has helped families in medical crisis “Bounce and not Break” by helping with bills during a medical crisis. The Ambassador Program applies to anyone who is in a transactional business, for example, mortgage loan officers, realtors, title companies, etc.
Every closing could result in a donation made in your name(s) to Spare Key. These donations are then used to support families are in the fight against a medical crisis — whether it's mental illness, cancer, recovering from a devastating injury, managing a chronic illness, working to get home after a premature birth, or facing many other challenges.
The Ambassador Program is a meaningful and simple way to contribute to Spare Key’s mission on a monthly basis:
- Designate a dollar amount to donate per transaction closed
- Contribute as an individual directly to Spare Key or involve your entire office in the program
- Submit our donations at the end of the month to assist us in helping more Minnesota families each month
For participating in the program Spare Key will provide you with the following tools to assist you in marketing your involvement:
- Spare Key will send an acknowledgment letter to your customer informing them of the donation you made on your behalf
- Spare Key Ambassador program Logo for use on business cards, signage, letterhead and other product
- Spare Key information brochure to share with customers
- Spare Key signage for office
If you’d like to sign up for the Ambassador Program or know more information, contact Sarah Rocklitz at sarah@sparekey.org.

Planned Giving
With thoughtful planning today, you can make a huge difference tomorrow. Making a planned gift costs you nothing today. You can include Spare Key as a beneficiary in your will, life insurance policy and retirement accounts.
Planned Gifts
The principal benefits of planned gifts accrue to Spare Key at a later time, after your death or the death of your last named beneficiary. Planned gifts take many forms, providing additional income for you and/or your heirs, reducing income and estate taxes, relieving you and your heirs of complicated financial management responsibilities and helping to fulfill your personal, humanitarian and charitable objectives. Planned gifts can be made in cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, personal property or life insurance.
Bequests by Will
One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements. In addition to supporting Spare Key, a bequest also can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones.
